*CANCELLED* SARA DENNIS Book Signing featuring PEG POWLER "Live" by the Sea
May 26, 2017, 7:00pm - May 26, 2017, 9:30pm
Middlesbrough Libraries recently received funding from Better World Books to capture the stories of people living with Dementia and their carers who visit the Memory Lane Café held at Middlesbrough Central Library.
The book captures different stories about work, family and friends and has been compiled by local
creative writer SARA DENNIS together with Quoin Publishing and the Library.
Sara will be joining us for an evening of stories about the book, the people it features, and how it came about. She will also be signing copies and answering questions from the audience.
This will be followed by an intimate acoustic session with Sara's band PEG POWLER.
The event will take place in our smaller ‘Waves’ function room so places are limited.
Entry is FREE but we advise everyone to register on to avoid disappointment.
SARA DENNIS is a singer/songwriter and writer from Saltburn who performs on the folk, blues/jazz, acoustic and literary scenes. began composing music from an early age.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world, Sara’s songs are a combination of the traditional and the contemporary, infused with fairy tale imagery, seascapes, history and literary characters and motifs.

songs and prose, published in literary magazine Beautiful Scruffiness, a book The Eye of Temenos:
Reflections on Sacred Space and the Black Light Engine Room magazine. Her collection of short sotire, The Blonde, is published on Kindle. She is working on her debut novel and first full collection of poetry. Sara’s debut album ‘Time & Tide’ was released in November 2010. Her second album, ‘Driftwood’ was released in the summer of 2012 and is available through iTunes and other online stores.

Sara previously worked for the public library service in the field of Reader Development at Middlesbrough Libraries and Information. She created and directed the Middlesbrough Literary Festival, hosting five years of successful literary events.
